June 11th at 6:30 p.m. in the Wayne Valley High School auditorium. Mayor Christopher Vergano and Interim Superintendent
of Schools Cynthia Randina were in attendance to give congratulatory words to the graduating NHS seniors. Best of luck

NHS Tutoring Has Ended for 2007-2008
The Wayne Valley National Honor Society was glad to offer tutoring services for students attending schools in the Wayne
School District through this year. At this time, all members that were a part of the program have completed their community
service obligations and the program has ended for this year. Please check back in September of 2008 when the tutoring
program will begin again for the next school year. Posted 3/15/08
Calling all NHS Tutors!
Attention all NHS members: you can start fulfilling your service requirements by tutoring. Make a difference
in the life of a fellow student by being a tutor and a mentor. Please see Mr. Parian immediately if
you are interested.
NHS Induction Ceremony
The Wayne Valley National Honor Society would like to welcome back members from the class of 2008, and soon we will induct
new members from the class of 2009. The induction will take place at Wayne Valley High School on Wednesday, October
17th at 7:00 PM in the auditorium.
School Beautification
Come help us beautify the courtyard in the new wing (next to the fishbowl). We will be cleaning and planting, so
dress appropriately. Please bring a gardening shovel and a milk jug filled with water (there aren't hoses to water the
plants). If you have any questions, please see Christina F.
Date: Friday, June 8th (Saturday, June 9th if rained out) Time: 2:20 (After School)
Reminders
The end of the year is upon us. Before the year is through, here are a few important events to keep in mind.
Graduation Seniors must report your service to Mr. Parian immediately in order to be recognized at
senior graduation. Submit your hours here if you have not already done so.
Senior Ceremony In celebration of our year's activities, we will be meeting on June 13. The historian
will make a presentation on what the WV NHS chapter has done this year. Juniors are needed to help out during this event,
so any willing juniors should see Mr. Parian.
Jump Rope for Heart In order to raise money for the American Cancer Society, we will be hosting a Jump
Rope for Heart fundraiser at Wayne Valley High School on Saturday, May 19th. The event will be held from 11:00 in the
morning until 2:00 in the afternoon. Bring your friends and help out this worthy cause.
Mrs. Moses' Magical Night of Entertainment The WV NHS will be helping Mrs. Moses with her fundraiser
on May 9th. NHS members will be assisting with admission and other fundraising through the evening. The night
begins at 7:30, though NHS members should arrive by 6:45.
Car Wash Raising money to help fight malaria, our car wash fundraiser will be on Sunday,
May 20 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Come join us on a sunny Sunday afternoon as we cool down and wash cars. Signup
with Cheryl.
Spring Fling This Zonta-sponsored event on May 30th is the yearly prom for local seniors.
NHS members are requested to come dance with the seniors and assist in running the event.
Kids Helping Kids After a successful first session of Kids Helping Kids, we thank everyone who helped
make it a success. This year's session will end on June 7. Expect this program to return next year.
Donate Books Please help under-supplied Camden schools and donate books. Every book counts, so
bring books suitable for children in grades 1 through 6. Please drop your donations in the box in Mr. Parian's room.
Thanks to Adam L. for his leadership with this project.
Williamsburg
Our annual WV NHS trip was awesome! This year's destination was historical
Williamsburg, VA. Located in the mouth of the Chesapeake between the York and James Rivers, Williamsburg was vitally
important to American history. Take a moment for a virtual tour of Williamsburg.
